In 2018 zijn de FBK Games benoemd tot werelderfgoed van de internationale atletiekfederatie. De wedstrijd bestaat uit een hoofdprogramma voor atleten van internationaal niveau. Elk jaar kun je de wereldtop van de atletiek in Twente aan het werk zien in het FBK stadion te Hengelo. Hierdoor kon de FBK Games gericht connecties zoeken met nieuwe samenwerkingspartners en voorbereid het gesprek in gaan.
Een nieuwe sponsor voor de FBK Games is Renewi. Door deze samenwerking zijn er kartonnen pakjes en bekertjes, wordt er zoveel mogelijk gebruik gemaakt van bestaande stroompunten en zo min mogelijk van aggregaten.
